It's time for Altenew's Year in Review Blog Hop! I adore Altenew and here are my fav cards I made this year featuring Altenew products: First up a birthday card I made for my dad that features Parrot Paradise (the bird is colored with color pencils):
Next up a birthday card I made for a friend featuring Build-A-Flower: Chrysanthemum and Fabulous Floral:
And finally this card that I made for Altenew Academy's watercolor class (this card was posted here).
I look forward to seeing what Altenew brings in 2019 to further our creativity! Happy New Year! #AltenewBest2018
Here is my card! I will also have another post with all my christmas cards I made this year!
This card uses a technique the great Jennifer McGuire had on her blog: alcohol ink (on watercolor paper) with emboss resist. You can find it here. I used a snowflake stencil for my embossed image. I love how this came out! Thanks for visiting! Ingredients: Altenew Bold Alphabet; PTI Sentiment Staples: Christmas; Echo Park Snowflakes #1 stencil
I made an alcohol ink background and cut it out with Bold Borders: Fall Foliage to mirror the leaves on the table. So pretty! Thanks for visiting! Ingredients: PTI Bold Borders: Fall Foliage, Simply Gourd-eous, Stylized Autumn
I'm trying to hone my watercoloring skills for my cards and am taking Altenew Academy's Watercolor Basics and Beyond class. I love their classes - very inexpensive (added bonus) but full of great info and techniques. I have made a card using the techniques from Day 2 - Watercolor Wash - using a stencil - love this! It really came out nicely.
I just got some Arches watercolor paper - both hot and cold press. This card uses the hot press paper - very smooth. The background has a rainbow vibe to it - a happy accident!
Thanks for visiting!
