Love You Always card for C&S4 and Fusion Card Challenge

I have another card for Online Card Classes' Clean & Simple 4: Techniques Made Easy. This card is for Day 3 of class which features inked background techniques. I went with the Layered Inking Technique.

I don't have the inks Jennifer McGuire mentioned, so I used one by MFT. The layering does seem more subdued than her's but I am pleased with how it came out.

Take a look:

For my layers I used a script stencil and then stamped tiny hearts. You can see the tiny hearts best in the upper right hand corner of the photo. I didn't want to use white ink instead of Versamark as suggested, because I think it might have been too stark and I wanted something softer. This card was also hard to photograph to capture the detail.  Here's a closer pic that you can see the script in:

I am also submitting this card for the current Fusion challenge - Heartful.

I was inspired by the hearts in the photo for my card - those silvery grays and deep reds.

Here's a last pic of the sentiment inside the card:

Be Mine Card for C&S 4 - Day 2

It's time for a card for Day 2 of Online Card Classes - Clean & Simple 4: Techniques Made Easy. Day 2 was all about die-cutting, which is pretty much my favorite part of card making - I LOVE dies!

My card today features the Border Gap Die-Cutting & Masking Technique. Most of the cards I'm making for the class are Valentine cards - they'll be done early - YEAH! Todays is no exception.

I went with a heart border to create the gaps. I just got this great stamp set from Lil' Inker recently and could not wait to break it out! Those lips are just gorgeous!

Here is the inside of the card:

I am also submitting this card for Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes which is featuring Lil' Inker products.

C&S 4 - Day 1 Heat Embossed & Masked Card

I'm finally able to work on my cards for Online Card Classes' latest class - Clean & Simple 4: Techniques Made Easy. So many great techniques! So many cards to make!

For Day 1, I made a card featuring the Heat Embossing & Masking Technique.

I don't have many embossing powders, so I went with a red glitter embossing powder for the heart and silver for the rest of the background. I got some smudging from the stamping but I like the look since this card has a more masculine feel to me.

Here's a closer look:

You Are Awesome card for W&W Birthday Bash

I have one more card for Winnie & Walter's 1st Birthday Bash.

Today's card is for the Distress Inks + Patterns Challenge with Mayuri.

I just got the V is for Chevron Creative Screenings, so I decided to create a masculine card using that for this challenge.  This card came about after a lot of trial and error and I really love it!!!

After inking the chevrons on the card and stamping the sentiment, I knew I needed something more. I love the cork look for embellishments, so I die cut some stars and that was the finishing touch I needed.

Here's a detail pic:

I had a little ink boo-boo with the word "awesome" (the "e") but did a double stamp to make it seem like it was on purpose! Project saved!

Thanks for visiting! I've been loving the Birthday Bash! Look forward to their next release!

Ingredients: W&W The Big, the Bold, the You, V is for cheVron Creative Screenings; PTI Tipped Tops (panel and stars); DCWV Cork Solids Mat Stack

Happy Birthday card for W&W Birthday Bash

I made another card for the Winnie & Walter 1st Birthday Bash.

Today's card is for the Sketch Challenge with Joni.

The instant I saw this sketch, I thought "birthday balloons!" I went with a gender-neutral but more masculine color palette.  Here's my card:

I love twine, but I'm a little twine-challenged. I kept taking off and then tying back on the twine on those balloons. I ended up waiting until the card was done and then added them and it worked out 100% better!

Ingredients: W&W The Big, the Bold, the Happy, Scenery-Big Bang Confetti; Avery Elle Balloons; PTI Double Ended Banners; MFT Blueprints #11 (panel); Doodlebug Kraft in Color-Kraft pattern paper; MS Bakers Twine

Love You card for PTI January Blog Hop

It's time for PTI's first blog hop of 2015! This month is all about hearts!

I decided to create a simple valentine card with a window!  Here is my card:

I went a simple color palette. I love kraft and red together!

Here's a side view to better showcase the window:

The frame around the window was made using PTI's LL: Hearts dies. I cut the heart with the lace border out first then took the plain heart and lined it up inside that heart, die cut it, and was left with a frame.

And here is the inside:

Thanks for visiting! Happy hopping!

Ingredients: PTI Limitless Layers Hearts, With All My Heart, Wet Paint (heart w/in circle stamp), Year Round Happiness, Heart border die, Tipped Tops

Winnie & Walter Valentine card

WOW - I haven't blogged in weeks (sorry) - where did the time go?!

Anyway I'm here today with a card for one of the challenges that Winnie & Walter is having as part of its 1st Birthday Bash. HAPPY BIRTHDAY W&W!!!!!  I adore W&W - such cute stamps and now they have stencils and dies too -- swoon! I placed an order recently so I could have more goodies to use in these awesome challenges.

My card today is for the Gradient Challenge with Vanessa. I love the gradient/ombre look but have not used it very much. After some trial and error I went with a spray mist and one of the Creative Screenings (aka stencil/mask) I just got.

Here is my card:

I adhered the "love" mask and some cutout hearts with temp adhesive to my card stock before spraying. I sprayed at an angle to get a better gradient look. When dry, I stamped "you" and then sprayed with Calico Shine and then finished with some heart sequins.

Here's a detail pic:

And finally the inside (simple but sweet):

Thanks for visiting!

Ingredients: W&W The Big, the Bold, the You - Stamps and Creative Screenings, The Big, the Bold and the Happy; PTI Heart Prints dies; MFT Blueprint #11 (small heart); misc heart sequins

Songbirds Birthday card for PTI's Make it Monday #195: A la Carte

Happy 2015 Everyone!!!

Papertrey Ink finished off 2014 with a look back at all the Make it Monday videos from 2014 and the challenge is to pick one of those and make a card/project inspired by that MIM. There were so many I wanted to do that I didn't get a chance to during the year, but I narrowed it down to one - MIM #175 - Creative Card Borders Using Non-Border Dies.

I broke out my new Songbirds stamp/dies and created a birthday card for my aunt. The biggest challenge for me was lining up those birds for the border! One of my weaknesses is straight lines! I was off a little but I made it work!

I rarely use ribbon on a card because I stink at bows but this knot with the tails works just fine!

Here is a detailed pic:

And the inside of the card:

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Ingredients: PTI Songbirds, Bitty Dot pattern paper, New Leaf ribbon
