Happy Father's Day "debossed" card

Father's Day is approaching and I made a card that fits into PTI's Make It Monday this week. MIM #166: Debossing Stamped Images - which uses stamps along with their corresponding dies. This was a pretty fast card to make once I decided on my images.

Here's my take:

This will be for my dad who's a big baseball fan - I even added a "W" to the hat to represent his fav team - the Washington Nationals.

Faux Watercolor Bouquet

This week's CASology challenge (#96)  is "Flower".

I have been trying my hand at making watercolor inspired cards lately and when I saw this card by Ling I knew it was time to break out WPlus9's Fresh Cut Florals stamp set. My card is a CASE of Ling's - I loved it that much! Here's my take on it:

I love Fresh Cut Florals but I struggle with making bouquets - this one took 3 tries. I decided simple was my best bet! This is a faux watercolor technique using dye inks, and then tracing over the image with a water loaded paint brush.

Cluster Stamped Holiday card

Time for Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday.  MIM #164 is Cluster Stamped Sentiment. I love this technique! I just wish I had more solid type images. I decided to make a holiday card - this technique is great for one layer cards to mail! After all the stamping was done, I sprayed the whole panel with Calico Shine mist - I love this stuff!

I took a close up to try to show the shine - you can see it a bit.

Joy card for Festive Friday!

It's Festive Friday time! Here is the inspiration for Challenge #31:

After some trial and error, I went super simple with my card! I used red glitter embossing powder on PTI's shimmer card stock for a festive little one layer card.

Here's a detailed pic:

Pretty in Pink Mother's Day card

I don't typically make monochromatic cards but I really wanted to showcase this pretty pattern paper. I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamps' Wednesday Challenge (Spring Flowers).

I used the divided panels technique that Maile Belles has been doing lately on her blog. I did not pop up my panels like she did because I wanted my card to be pretty flat for mailing, but the sentiment die cut is on foam tape.

Envelope Wrap for Mother's Day card

An adorable envelope is a perfect way to finish off a special card! For PTI's Make it Monday #163 this week, the challenge was to make an envelope wrap with some watercolor touches. I am just now getting into this watercolor trend and it's a classic for the crafting arsenal! This envelope will be for this card that was entered in the Watercolor Splat MIM.

Here is my wrap before attaching it to the envelope:

Here is the front of the envelope with the wrap:

And here's the back:

I can't wait to try this at the holidays!

Modern Grunge Mother's Day card

Mother's Day is almost here and I decided to make my youngest sister's card with a grunge vibe. I LOVE how this card turned out! I am submitting this to the Addicted to CAS: Challenge #37 - Grunge.

Both the sentiment and the flower are embossed with black detail embossing powder. I just can't get enough of the W&W "happy" sentiment - so versatile! A silvery pearl accents the flower!
