Happy Easter card for PTI February hop!

Even though we are still getting snow here, spring is bound to show up (right?). What better way to get into that spring mood than with a cute Easter card!  This month's PTI blog hop is all about spring!

This Easter chick is perfect for my CAS vintage-vibe card (I used rustic white card stock for stamping on).  I also discovered a new angle for my tipped tops die cut by putting the die cut at the bottom - love this look!

Thanks for visiting!

Thank You Card for Day 9 of PTI's 7th Anniversary

Snow Day!!!! A perfect day to stay in a create cards!

The challenge for Papertrey Ink's Anniversary challenge today was to collect "building blocks" from the DT to come up with a card design. I love this idea!

My building blocks are:
Colors: Hawaiian Shores, Orange Zest, Hibiscus Burst and for the neutral Soft Stone
Occasion: Thank You
Technique: Inlaid Die Cuts
Embellishment: Adhesive Pearls
Fiber: Baker's Twine

And from the sketches - sketch #1

Here is my card:

I have a tendency to put the Tipped Tops die cuts and flip them so that the larger end is at the top versus the bottom.

Side view to see the inlaid die cuts:

Ingredients: PTI Tipped Tops, Ruby Rose, Signature Greetings, Fillable Frames #4; Misc baker's twine; Misc adhesive dots

Striped Thank You

Papertrey Ink's 7th anniversary celebration week continues! For Day 7, the challenge is to incorporate stripes into a card. Stripes are always hard for me so I did tone-on-tone stamping.

The banner is popped up on foam tape for some dimension.  I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Get Krafty

Ingredients: PTI Distressed Stripes, Wonderful Words: Thank You, Faux Ribbon, Wine Bottle Tag

HAPPY 7th ANNIVERSARY to Papertrey Ink!!!!

It's PTI's 7th Anniversary!!! PTI was one of the first stamp companies I discovered when I got into card making and fell in love with their endless creativity, awesome design team, fabulous stamps and card stock to die for!!

For their anniversary PTI is having a challenge using "recipe cards" (you can download them from this post) that provide 7 color combos and 7 sketches to choose from.  Here's what I ended up choosing:

From this combo, I created a clean & graphic masculine birthday card:

Ingredients: PTI One Liners: Happy, Wonderful Words: Birthday, Distressed Stripes, Grid Card stock; Studio Calico Mr. Huey's Mists - Orchard, Overdue

I Just Love You V-Day Card

Valentine's Day is around the corner! Here's a card featuring a PTI printable (found here) by Heather Nichols. I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Have a Heart.

Ingredients: PTI Hearts Border, "I Just Love You" printable image; Doodlebug Sweetheart pattern paper

Happy Birthday Card for PTI Challenge

Today's PTI Anniversary challenge was to use a "word" as the focal point on a card. Love this!!! Since I work full time, I brainstormed my idea/sketch at work (this is why I love Evernote -  it's my stamp/die inventory at my fingertips). Of course when I came home I changed it a bit but love it none the less.

Here's my card:

I saw a card on Pinterest today that used a bright pink and grey color scheme and I just loved it so I used that here - raspberry fizz, soft stone and smokey shadow. I also am using the die-cut shadow technique here - the balloon is on foam tape but everything else is flat.

Sorry that my pic is a bit off -taking pics in the evening bites- the lighting just isn't the same as during the day!

Thanks for visiting!

Love - Valentine Card for The Pink Elephant Challenge

I found a new challenge blog to inspire my creations - The Pink Elephant

The challenge this week is an inspiration challenge based on this photo:

I decided to create a quick and easy valentine card. The "love" word was die cut 5 times and then glued together to create some dimension.

It's WPlus9's 4th Birthday!

Happy 4th Birthday WPlus9!!!!

To kick off the celebration, WPlus9 is having a Comfort Zone Challenge

My comfort zone is definetely a CAS/Clean-and-Graphic card style.

Here's my card:

Almost every card I make utilizes die cutting along with stamping.  Here I die cut the patter paper to create a frame for my sentiment.  I ran out of foam tape (my other go-to comfort zone item) so the pattern paper is flat on the card. The silvery hearts were cut from shimmer card stock and adhered to add some pizzaz to one of my favorite sentiments by WPlus9.

Ingredients: WPlus9 Love You More; PTI Spiral Notebook Page Die; MFT Blueprints 11 (mini hearts); Doodlebug Sweetheart pattern paper
