Mother's Day card featuring watercolor splats!

Mother's Day is just around the corner, so I got a jump on my cards with PTI's Make It Monday. This week is Challenge #161: Watercolor Splats.  Great technique- I've gotta make a masculine card with this technique soon! I am also submitting my card to CASology's challenge for Week #92: Garden.

Here's my card:

For my background I used PTI's Berry Sorbet and Raspberry Fizz and Memento's Lilac Posies. I also popped up the die cut.

Embroidered Inspiration card

It's time for the PTI Blog Hop!

This month's challenge was to be inspired by embroidery.

This was a tough one for me as I'm not into the sewing arts BUT I finally found a pattern that spoke to me. I found this pattern by Ursula Michael and being that I LOVE snowmen I dove right in! I used a LOT of sentiments and love how this turned out!

Here's the inside of my card:

Ingredients: PTI Shape up Snowman, Winter Penguin, Tag Its #8, Holiday Tree, Peaceful Pinecones, Winter Cheer, Stylish Sentiments: Holiday, Peace Be Still, Happiest of Holidays, Think Big Favorites #9, Snowflake Impression plate; Studio Calico Mr. Huey's Calico Shine Mist; MFT Blueprints 11 (panel)

Easter Wishes Faux Quilted Card

I love to use (and buy LOL) pattern paper and this week's PTI Make It Monday was the perfect opportunity to use several patterns. This week's MIM #159 is No-Sew Quilted Cards. I only have one cover plate (chevrons) and I loved the quilted effect it created.  I am also entering this card in Cuttin' and Stampin's Weekly Challenge 14-14: Rainbows/Easter.

Many Thanks Card for PTI MIM #158 & CAS(E) this Sketch #71

Time for Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday. For MIM #158, the technique is to stamp with watercolor mediums. I just bought a small pack of Distress Markers so I used those and a mini mister to create my watercolor stamped images.

I am also using Sketch #71 from CAS(E) this Sketch for my card. I adore this sketch - great for minimal layers!

The mister takes some getting used to and I was being conservative with my spraying here because in practice I sprayed way too much! I think the blue flower pulls off the watercolor effect best. I also lightly sprayed the sentiment to carry over the watercolor technique.

Ingredients: PTI Funky Florals, Fillable Frames #1, Fabulous Frames (banner); MFT Blueprints 11 (panel); Ranger Distress Markers
