PTI Make It Monday #145 - A La Carte!

For this week's MIM you could choose from all the MIM tutorials from the year. I decided to go with MIM #100 (originally found here). I have a few Christmas cards that are too bulky to fit in a regular A2 size envelope and I have these glassine bags to use in those situations. I love using the glassine bags to finish off a card that will be hand delivered. (BTW - this is the link for the bags on PTI's site - but they are out of stock).

Here are the packaged cards:

Ingredients:
Bag #1: PTI In the Meadow, Signature Greetings-Christmas; MFT Snowflake Doily; Doodlebug Washi Tape; misc pattern paper from stash
Bag #2: PTI Shape Up Snowman, Wonderful Words: Holiday; MFT Jumbo Fishtail Banner Stax; Basic Grey pattern papers
Bag #3: PTI Wine Bottle Tag, In the Meadow; Doodlebug pattern papers

I love to mix and mingle dies and stamps from different companies and this one features goodies from My Favorite Things, Papertrey Ink and Paper Smooches.

Here's a side view.

And the inside.

Day 5 Tag for Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas w/ a Feminine Twist

We are already on Day 5 of Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist.

For Day 5, the adorable Kelly Alvarez of Lawn Fawn Stamps is showing us how to tag an image that is masculine and give it a feminine edge!  This was harder than I thought it was going to be! I finally decided after some trial and error to use a snowman image from Technique Tuesday called Good to Snow (LOVE this stamp set!).  I am not a pinky-pink girl so I threw some purple in! My niece will love this tag!  The hardest part was making those darn eyelashes!!!

Ingredients: Technique Tuesday Good to Snow; PTI Tag Sale Die #5, Winter Snow Globe (sentiment), Raspberry Fizz ribbon

Day 2 Tag for Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas w/ a Feminine Twist

I'm playing along with Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas 2013.

Today my tag is my take on Julie Ebersole's tag with a window found here. Thanks for visiting!

Modern Whimsy card for PTI Make it Monday #143

Time for Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday! Danielle Flanders showed us a new style that I've seen cropping up that she calls "Modern Whimsy." It's a layered style but clean and modern at the same time.  You can see the video here.  It was a fun challenge! Here's my take (sorry for the lighting - it's been cloudy all week!):

Ingredients: PTI Half and Half die collection, Ric Rac Border die, Heart Border die, Shape up Snowman, Wonderful Words:Holiday, Tag Sale #1, Snowflake Medley, Winter Snow Globe (sentiment); Doodlebug Home for the Holidays pattern paper; Echo Park Holly Jolly Christmas pattern paper; MS Twine; green craft foam (Michaels)

Merry Card

I've gotten almost all my Christmas cards done and here's one more!

I used a inlaid die-cutting technique that Betsy Veldman showcased here.  I love this technique! I left the spaces in the word "Merry" and within the pine branch out mostly because they were too small to put back in (successfully) but I like the look as well.

Here's a side shot so you can see the dimension and that glittery ornament.

And here's an interior shot using the negative of the Merry Photo Frame die used on the front (LOVE this die BTW!).

I am entering this card in 2 challanges - Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge (Anything Goes)and the "Less is More" Week 148 Challenge (Lucky Dip - Sparkle).

Ingredients: PTI Peaceful Pinecones, Rustic Twine; MFT Grand Greetings, Merry Photo Card Frame Die-namics, Christmas Ornaments dies; Ranger Metal Foil Tape Sheets, Ranger Distress Glitter Rock Candy; Simple Stories pattern paper; Basic Grey pattern paper

PTI Make it Monday #142

It's time for Make it Monday! This week the challenge was to decorate a kraft bag. I had some small kraft bags that I decorated to use as party favors for an upcoming holiday party. I'll probably fill this with some candy and a small ornament or something like that (heck maybe even some popcorn!).

I like to keep treat bags/boxes simple because I know they get tossed (ack!).

Ingredients: PTI Snowflake Medley, TagIts #8, LL: Circles (1.75"); misc kraft bag (Michaels)

Last Festive Friday Challenge for 2013

It's time for the last Festive Friday Challenge! This one let's you pick your favorite challenge and create a new project. Here's the trigger I used:

I love all things snow!!! I was inspired also by this adorable ornament created by Tiffany Johnson found here.

I don't have that awesome die Tiffany used, so I decided to use a pillow box die I had to create my ornament with a snowy scene inside (sorry for the slight glare):

I used shimmer card stock for the snowman and glittered the snowflakes.
Here's an angled view:

Ingredients: PTI Pillow Box die, In the Meadow dies (snow drift), Snowflake Medley, Tag-Its #8, Fillable Frames #1 die;, shimmer card stock  Technique Tuesday Good to Snow; Echo Park Holly Jolly Christmas pattern paper; twine; acetate; Ranger Distress Stickles Dry glitter

November PTI Blog Hop Entry

So this month's PTI Blog Hop is to make and decorate a paper house and provided a template, which I used.

I decided to take the gingerbread house type approach since I don't have any PTI house-type stamps.  It's a pretty sparse little house but like my card making, it is CAS.

Here's one side:

Here's another:

And here's the front:

I had to get creative in making the roof, door and windows. The windows are actually made using the small square die from the Make a Wish die collection. The roof shingles are made using the Large Scallop die and the door is hand cut. I used white Enamel Accents by Inkssentials for the icing look.

Ingredients: PTI Large Scallop Die, Make a Wish, Winter Snow Globe; Misc Doodlebug papers (wreath and door); Inkssentials Enamel Accents; Ranger Distress Stickles Dry Glitter

Thanksgiving Treat Boxes

I usually make place holders for the Thanksgiving table but this year I decided to make more of a party favor that will sit at each place setting.  This week the Friday Mash-up is to make a 3D item and/or use colors (Baked Brown Sugar, Always Artichoke, Crushed Curry) so my treat boxes fit in with the 3D element.

I turned one to the side so you can get a better look at the box. These are just a few of the ones I made - I ended up with about 10 of them! I'll fill these with some yummy chocolates!

Ingredients: PTI Nuts for You, Distressed Dots pattern paper; MFT Paper Bag Treat Box; misc pattern papers

It's Always Been You

It's time for my wedding anniversary (19 years - wow) so I needed to make a card for my hubby.
This card just happens to fit in with CAS-ual Friday's #119 Challenge: Embossing and  Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge .

The sentiment on the heart is embossed with black detail embossing powder - the sentiment was perfect for this!

Ingredients: MFT Lovey-Dovey Sentiments; PTI LL: Hearts, Chevron Cover Plate; My Mind's Eye Love Me pattern paper

Merry Christmas to All

It's time for another Make it Monday from PTI.  This week's MIM #138 is Inlaid Die Cuts by Betsy Veldman. I love this one! I decided to make a Christmas card to add to my stash but I plan on trying this technique for other holidays/occasions.

It's a little hard to tell from the pic but I used PTI's white shimmer card stock for the main panel.  I also stamped the word "merry" a with background stamp in Versamark Frost which you can't see at all here. (I use my iPad to take pics.)

Ingredients: PTI In the Meadow (dies), Wonderful Words: Holiday stamps and dies, BB: Retro, shimmer card stock; Doodlebug Home for the Holidays pattern paper (tree)

Ghost Pins for SSS Wednesday Halloween Challenge

This week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is Halloween or Halloween Colors. Since I made all my Halloween cards already, I got creative and used my dies to make cute Halloween Ghostie pins to wear! I created a sandwich to make the felt sturdy so there is a piece of card stock between the 2 pieces of felt. For the back I cut holes thru the felt to push the edges of the pin back thru to hold it more securely.

Ingredients: PTI Felt, Ghostly Greetings (die); Wiggle Eyes, Pin Back

PTI October Blog Hop

It's blog hop time with Papertrey Ink and this month we are making tag sets!! Yeah!

I put together a set of 5 tags featuring PTI's In the Meadow dies and Stylish Sentiments: Holidays.

My tags use a technique Laura Bassen did here.  The snowman was the hardest for me because of the die layout but this was a fun technique I must try on a card (maybe a whole set!) soon! I also sprayed these with Calico Shine but it's a little hard to see.

Ingredients: PTI In the Meadow (dies), Stylish Sentiments: Holidays, Tag Sale Dies #1, #3, #4 and #5; Doodlebug North Pole pattern paper; MS Twine; Studio Calico Mr. Huey's Calico Shine Spray Mist

Halloween Treat Boxes

I just adore My Favorite Things' Paper Bag Treat Box die and Peek-a-Boo Die-namics so I am using both for my little halloween treat boxes for my co-workers.  They were very easy and fast to put together.

For the bags with the spider web, I added some vellum to the inside for stability.  I'll put some candy inside a little baggie in each with a to/from tag.

Ingredients: MFT Paper Bag Treat Box Die-Namics, Peek-a-Boo Die-namics; PTI Halloween Prints pattern paper

OCC Insider Day 1

I finally got to tackle some of the techniques from Online Card Classes' Insider class.  For Day 1, I used two techniques, using an "action wobbler" and soft stamping. Both of these cards were already made a while back but I had left the insides blank.

Here is card #1 using the wobbler:

Here is card #2 using soft stamping - I created a mask using the snowflake die that creates the window on the front of the card.

Ingredients card #1 inside: PTI LL: Ovals, 2012 Birthday Tags

Ingredients card #2 inside: PTI Winter Cheer; Paper Smooches Christmas Sampler, Santa Paws, Swanky Snowdudes

Thanksgiving Card for PTI MIM #132

This week's Make It Monday is to use layered border die cuts on a card.  I used the Leafy Vine border die on my card and that adorable squirrel again!

It may be hard to see, but the I flipped up the larger leaf sections a bit to create some dimension and I also embossed the sentiment in white so it would pop.

Ingredients: PTI Nuts for You, Tag Its #7, Leafy Vine die; Doodlebug Happy Harvest pattern paper; American Crafts Halloween pattern papers; Basic Grey Life of the Party pattern papers

Thanksgiving Greetings card for CAS-Fridays #115

Here is my latest card using that adorable Nuttie the Squirrel stamp again!  This time it's for the CAS-Fridays Challenge #115.
