My card for the Festive Friday Challenge #11

The latest Festive Friday challenge is an element challenge - a tree. Love this challenge!

I tried out a technique that I've been wanting to use for a while - cutting a die cut from a panel and popping the panel up and layering pattern paper through the die cut space.  I love how it turned out:

I used PTI's soft stone card stock for both the panel and the card base. I also used PTI's In the Meadow dies (tree), Wonderful Words: Holiday, red felt (for "Merry"), some gems and Doodlebug's North Pole pattern papers. I also use some Mr. Huey's Calico Shine spray on the tree background to give some sparkle.

  1. This is a great use of a negative die cut and what fresh, fun colours! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Festive Friday!

  2. Oh I LOVE the colours - so bright and gorgeous! The tree is the perfect die to use for this technique too. Thanks so much for joining us again at Festive Friday!

  3. Ah, what a wonderful card, Lizzie! The colors are so fresh, and I love the negative die cut with the more solid pattern showing through...great design! Great to have you back at Festive Friday!

  4. Beautiful! I love everything about this card Lizzie! I can only imagine how beautiful it is in person. Thanks for sharing and playing along!
