Ombre Love card

It's time for a Papertrey Ink Make it Monday challenge! Challenge #238 is Valentine Ombre Stamping with Melissa!

Melissa used Gelatos but I had to go with inks since I only have one pink Gelato (not even one red shade!).

I created the ombre look with Scribbled Circles die cuts. My card base is stone gray - I love it with the pinks!

Mixed Media Art piece

I've been wanting to make a mixed media artsy piece for a while and finally dove in! I'm submitting my creation to the STAMPlorations January Mixed Media Challenge (Stencil Sunday #27).

Here is my creation:

I cut a piece of chipboard to a 5x7 size, applied gesso on the base and used Gelatos to create my background. Then, I added some stamping and stenciled my flower using Ferro in Graphite.

Thanks ombre card

Today's card is for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Ombre and features Hero Arts products. I've had the succulents stamp set for a while and finally made a card using this adorable stamp set.

Not only does the background have the ombre look but the plant itself has it too a bit. Plant/planter was stamped, cut out and colored with color pencils.

Floral Stenciled Card

Back again with a fun card for 2 challenges: the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Stencil It and STAMPlorations' CASEplorations January challenge. I'm also submitting this card to the STAMPlorations Never-Ending Anything Goes Challenge!

This is the inspiration for the CASEplorations challenge - we get to case Lauren Bassen! I love her!

Although I do have this leaf stencil, I went with the Happy Flowers stencil to use with my colored embossing paste. I love the colors she used and went with similar ones.

Here's my card:

I went more one layer and simple, forgoing the thread and gem accents and minimizing the use of black text that was more prominent in Lauren's card.

Mix it Up Challenge Card

I love Ellen Hutson's Mix it Up Challenges, but I have limited EH sets to work with, so I was super excited when this month's challenge was to use products from My Favorite Things along with Ellen's. I don't have a ton of MFT goodies, but I have some great sentiment sets from them and decided on making a birthday card. YAY!

I just got some Brushos and decided on making a watercolored card with them. Check it out:

I white-embossed Mondo Magnolia on water color paper and then sprinkled Brushos over each flower and misted a bit to let the magic happen, also used a wet brush to fill in spots.

Peony Birthday Card for PTI MIM

PTI's Make it Monday is back after a short break and we start off the new year with the "a la carte" Make it Monday Challenge which gives you a chance to go back through the year's challenges, pick one and make a project. So many to chose from that I didn't get to do last year, but I finally settled down on Dawn McVey's Layering Cover Plate Die Cuts - MIM #200 (link to that original challenge here.)

I finally got PTI's Peony cover plate and knew I wanted to use it for this challenge as Dawn did in here demo. Love this die! So pretty! So here is my first card for 2016, made for the first time with this die:

I went with 2 pinks - Raspberry Fizz and Hibiscus Burst with a vintage cream base.
