This week's Make it Monday technique was to create a double background with stamps. I love this look and decided to make an anniversary card for my upcoming parents' wedding anniversary.
Ingredients: PTI BB: Text Style II, Funky Florals, Happy Day, Turning a New Leaf, Fancy Flourishes

Summer Card Camp - Week 3, Day 5
Yeah for more color combos!!!!! I used the 3rd color combo but used red in place of a bright pink and tried out the Masked Embossing technique by Kristina (side note: she was one of the first card makers I found and was inspired by many years ago - I adore her work and that adorable kitty Mannie! end of side note LOL).
I had my son in mind when making this card - I think it's a great guy card if I do say so myself! I kinda used Sketch #3 and masked off the upper portion of the card and then stamped/embossed with white and silver embossing powders.
I cut the word "birthday" out of black card stock but I thought it was hard to see so I topped the letters with Pumice Stone Distress Stickles.
Ingredients: CHF - Distressed Circles (Scrapblock); MFT Happy Birthday, License Plate dies
Summer Card Camp - Week 3, Day 4
I am mostly a CAS girl but I do love the vintage-y and distressed looks, so I was inspired by Debby's Loads of Shabby Chic Layers technique. My first go at this was not as "layer-y":
So I revamped it and came up with this:
3 layers plus a collage-like effect on the card base and a little distressing on the green middle layer.
Ingredients for both cards: Skipping Stones Designs Love Song; PTI Tag Sale #3, Postmarks; Tim Holtz Bitty Grunge; Basic Grey Curio pattern papers

PTI July Blog Hop
It's time for the PTI Blog Hop - I didn't think I'd have time to make a card with Summer Card Camp taking up most of my creative time but I squeezed a card in at the 11th hour!!!
Ingredients: PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments, WW: Birthday, Fabulous Frames; Studio Calico Mr. Huey's Mists

Summer Card Camp - Week 3, Day 3 - Card #2
I made another Halloween card using the Stamp Paper Piecing technique Melissa Phillips showed us.
The Count's cape is paper pieced and his eyes and hair were colored in. I used Sketch #1.
Ingredients: Paper Smooches Spookalicious; Purple Onion Designs Halloween Border Tape; tiny spider stamp (unknown); Doodlebug die cut (frame)

Summer Card Camp - Week 3, Day 2 - Card #3!
Well I got card #3 done for day 2 - I used the Background Die Cuts technique. I have very few dies that would have worked but I knew that the spider web one would be the one!
Ingredients: PTI Happy Haunting, Spider Web (trio), Tag-its #7 Mini; Paper Smooches Halloweenies (bat); Studio Calico Mr Huey's Calico Shine

Summer Card Camp - Week 3, Day 2 - Card #2
Back with another card using the awesome Colorblocking with Diecutting technique that the fab Betsy Veldman showed us. I knew that was her card as soon as I saw it - she is so creative and comes up with some great concepts!
Cutting the pattern papers took the longest as I am math-challenged even with her telling me what size to cut them - which I saw after one round of cutting! LOL
Ingredients: Simon Says Stamp Happy; PTI WW: Birthday, Make a Wish Additions; papers from - Doodlebug, Basic Grey; Ranger Stickles
I'm going to try to get one more card made for Day 2 - if it works out (fingers crossed).

Summer Card Camp - Week 3, Day 2 - Card #1
Another day of camp, another card. I am loving all these die-cut related techniques! For my first card, I used the Pattern Paper Die Cutting technique.
I used pattern paper for the large blue background and the flowers.
Ingredients: PTI Friends til the End (sentiment), Double-Ended Banners, Mega Gracious Vases, Mega Mat Stack #4; Memory Box Chloe Stem; Misc enamel dots

Summer Card Camp - Week 3, Day 1 card
Well it's the last week of camp ;(
I thought last week's color combo was difficult and then they threw a curveball at us - purple! I love purple but this was not easy for me until the light bulb went off! I loved all the techniques today but I struggled to make a card using Jennifer's Layered Stamp Background technique because I couldn't get my background stamps to layer correctly. I tried it with a chevron stamp and then polka dots but no success. This was harder than I thought it would be! So I then moved on to Nichole Heady's Tone-on-Tone Background technique. Again the struggle - first with colors and then with design. Then the light bulb went off! I decided to make this card a halloween card - I love to use purple for halloween so that's what I did and it worked! I used sketch #3 as well. Here it is:
Ingredients: Technique Tuesday Eek; Purple Onion Designs Halloween Border Tape; Hero Arts Large Web; American Craft Thickers; Ranger Stickles

Summer Card Camp - Week 2, Day 5 - Card #2 (also for CFC110)
I love the subway art look for my cards and was so excited to make a card using the Sentiment Piecing technique that Kelly Rasmussen showed us. I was planning on making 2 cards - one in a birthday sentiment theme and the other in a thank you sentiment theme, but I didn't have enough different "thank you" sentiments to make it work so I made the birthday one. I also used the first additional color combo for this card.
I am also entering this card in the CAS-ual Fridays Count Me In Challenge.
Although this is a time consuming process (for me at least) I loved it and the results!! I must try this again!! I think holiday sentiments would be fun to try as well!
Ingredients: Gel-A-Tins Happy Days Phrases; MFT Birthday Sentiments; PTI Birthday Basics: Birthday Fun, BB: Retro, Around & About Sentiments (stars); Mama Elephant Good Times, Say What

Summer Card Camp - Week 2, Day 5 - Card #1
I loved all the techniques for day 5!!! This card uses Jennifer McGuire's "ink carving" technique. And she makes it look easy! The ink selection is key here which she does mention. I used dye inks at first and it didn't work well. Chalk and Pigment inks were the easiest so that's what I used.
I used the technique on the 2 parts of the flower and leaves. I think maybe the "dots" on my flower should have been bigger but this works. I used a new color combo - the first one but I replaced the reddish color for a fuchsia color. I also stamped the fuchsia ink on the edges of the orange flower after it was stamped orange like Jennifer did in the video.
Ingredients: PTI Friends til the End (sentiment), Large Scalloped Border die; Mama Elephant Modern Borders; Paper Smooches Bold Blooms and Leafy Greens; orange enamel dot

Summer Card Camp - Week 2, Day 4
Ahhhhhh Day 4 was a challenge - using your holiday products for a non-holiday card. I finally settled on using the penguin from A PTI set and made a CAS birthday card. The other holiday stamps used in this card are the present and the "streamers" - which are originally some kind of "wind" indication. I also used a new color combo - the 4th one from the top.
I tried to make another card that uses a holiday stamp to create a pattern but my attempts were unsuccessful and I gave up. I tested patterns out with Mama Elephant's Believe in Magic set using the snow globe bases and even the "ornate" tree image. Then I tried PTI's Merry and Bright Additions (one of the tree sections) - another fail. Most of my (winter) holiday stamps are fun and cute not very ornate so I think it was hard to pull off for me. While I struggled with this idea, another came to mind - using non-holiday stamps to make a holiday card. I will have to try this out sometime (unless it pops up as a challenge and then it's on!). I do like this concept so someday down the line I may be able to get it done!

The sun wasn't very bright when I took this pic so I wanted to clarify that the card base is PTI's Soft Stone and I used Smoky Shadow ink for the penguin on some of the sentiments.

Summer Card Camp - Week 2, Day 3 card
Another fun day at camp! I was thrilled that new color combos came out so I decided to use those for today's card that features the die cut and punched scraps technique. The circles are punched from 1" and 1/2" hole punches (which haven't seen the light of day recently). I used sketch #3 and for the color combo I used the 3rd one from the top.
Here goes:

Summer Card Camp - Week 2 - Day 2 card
Hi all! It's day 2 and I created a card using the tone-on-tone embossing technique. I love the ombre embossing technique but I only have a few colored embossing powders and they are more christmas-y so I will be sure to use that technique then!! This may also be an excuse for me to buy an inexpensive set of colored embossing powders so I'm not restricted.
Here it is:
It's hard to see the tone-on-tone embossing effect but it's on the leaves and the top 2 layers of the flower.
Ingredients: PTI Bitty Dots paper, Distressed Dots paper, Signature Greetings, Watercolor Wonder (border); Paper Smooches Loopy Leaf, Leafy Greens, Bold Blooms

Summer Card Camp - Week 2 - Day 1 card
And we're back for more summer campy fun! For day 1, I decided to create a card using the paper piecing technique - I love to use this technique. I also used this week's colors which are hard for me because I love bright colors but I think I made it work:
Ingredients: PTI Autumn Hills, Mat Stack 4 and Mega Mat Stack 4, BB: Text Style II, Little Bitty Bird (sentiment); Basic Grey paper (blue)

My 2nd card for Festive Friday #12 Challenge - Snow
I love this challenge so I made another card!
I heat-embossed the snowman onto the pattern paper to keep this card pretty flat. Love how it turned out!
Ingredients: PTI Peace be Still impression plate, Wine Bottle tag die; Hero Arts Happy ("jolly"); Unity Stamps Kissmas & Mistletoe; Doodlebug North Pole pattern paper

Summer Card Camp - Week 1, Day 5 card at last!
I love the embossed window and acetate technique Kristina showed us. I immediately know I wanted to do a Christmas card with this technique. My original idea was to use a snowman die for the window but that ended up being too big so I used a snowflake instead. Here goes:
The light in my office was a little crummy so you can't even tell the acetate is there but trust me it is - I had to emboss it 2x with my CB snowflake embossing folder! I also did not create the "booklet" effect that Kristina did in the video, instead I adhered the pattern paper to the back of the card front. Mostly because I'm lazy - LOL!
Ingredients: PTI Peace be Still Impression Plate, Winter Snow Globe; WPlus9 Simple Snowflake, Seasonal Sentiments; Basic Grey Aspen Frost pattern paper

Summer Card Camp - Week 1, Day 4 card
For this card I used the die-cut letter technique Jennifer Rzaza showed us. This was not easy! I think it's because I have small letter dies (this sounds like a reason for me to get another alpha set with larger letters......hmmmmmmm). Here goes:
This card also uses one of the additional color combos.

Summer Card Camp - Week 1, Day 3 card
Welcome back! For this card I used the masked/edge background technique, a color combo from the additional combos and sketch #1. Here is my creation for day 3 of week 1:
This card took me a few tries - to get the color of the background ink to flow with the color of "thank you". Then the blue I used didn't fit so I used pattern paper for the blue flowers and it worked much better.
Ingredients: PTI BB: Postmarks, TBF #5, Funky Florals; Basic Grey and Anna Griffin pattern papers

Summer Card Camp - Week 1 - Two Cards for Day 2
Whew! I made all my cards for the first week of card camp today!!! I will be sure to keep up better next week - my work space is a hot mess! LOL
Here are my 2 cards to Day 2:
1. I decided to make this card a halloween card and used one of the additional color combos provided for this week. This card using the multi-inking/masking technique and sketch #2:
Ingredients: Pink Cat Studios - Itty Bitty Betty (and Bobby); Fresh Squeezed Stamps Subway Series: Fall; Doodlebug Trick or Treat pattern paper; PTI card stock; Misc black gems/dots
2. This next card took 3 tries to get it right. First I discovered that my Ranger Paint Dabbers went dry (ack!) and I had no other acrylic paint. I decided to use my ink mists instead. THEN I had to find a stencil - gasp I only had one (or so I thought) and then I hunted around and found my Impressabilities from Spellbinders - YEAH! The great thing about this camp is that I am using supplies that have not gotten much love! OK first try I misted too much and you could not tell I used a stencil. The 2nd try was better but still too much. 3rd time was a charm! This card took a lot of time but I love it! This card uses the main color combo provided on day 1 for week 1.
Ingredients: Hero Arts Newspaper Background; Gelatins Spring Garden; PTI Star Prints; Spellbinders Impressabilities - Pebbles; Ranger White Enamel; Studio Calico Mr Huey's Mists - Overdue and Orchard.

Card for Summer Card Camp - Week 1, Day 1
I am loving Summer Card Camp!!!! I work full time so I don't get much time during the week to make cards but I've watched all the videos so far and my brain in churning with ideas. I'm hoping to have a card for each day of the camp (to date) created and posted by tomorrow (crossing fingers). On to my card for Day 1:
My dad's birthday is this week so I wanted to incorporate that using the colors and sketch #3. For the neutral I used PTI's soft stone for the card base - love that color!!!
Ingredients: PTI Handy Hardware; Simple Stories Snap Life pattern papers

Summer Card Camp 2 - Pre-Class Challenge #2
I didn't do the first challenge but here is the second one based on the provided sketch. I need a birthday card for my niece so I used this sketch to start from and here is what I made:
Ingredients: Paper Smooches Cuteasaurus, Birthday Sampler; PTI Birthday Style, Double-Ended Borders, Shimmer Card stock (blue and pink), Bitty Dot paper; MFT grape jelly card stock; Doodlebug Hello Spring pattern paper; Basic Grey Lime Rickey pattern paper; Ranger White Enamel

It's Festive Friday time!
We are on Festive Friday Challenge #12 (FFC12) and I love the trigger for this one --- SNOW!!! I have an unhealthy obsession with snowflake and snowmen stamps and dies (oh and pattern paper too BTW) - I have such a weakness for them!!! I have 18 stamp sets that feature snowflakes and/or snowmen - wow. (Thanks Evernote for documenting my collection!)
Anyways.....I decided to go "snowflake" for this trigger challenge (just in case a snowman challenge pops up later is my reasoning!). Here it is - bold and simple:
I love traditional holiday colors! I originally used 3 different types of pattern paper (1 per snowflake) but I found it was too busy and overwhelming so I used solid cardstock for the bottom snowflake instead and really love how it turned out. I almost always add dimension, so I used foam tape/glue dots between the top and middle layers. Ta-da!
Ingredients: PTI Cardstock; Paper Smooches Christmas Sampler (sentiment); Doodlebug North Pole pattern paper
